Kolossal Games at BGG.CON 2017
The Kolossal Games team is heading to Texas to attend BGG.CON 2017. While there, we’re going to be meeting with board game media folks and showing off our upcoming titles. If you want to join us for a playthrough, an interview, or want to see what we’ve been up to, reach out. Slots are filling up quickly, so we hope to hear from you soon.
We will be demoing and previewing our first titles of 2018, Western Legends and Kami-sama, with both media and gamers. Keep an eye on our social media accounts to find out where we’ll be during the con so you can stop by and play these titles before they reach Kickstarter in early 2018. We look forward to gaming with you.
About the games:
Western Legends, from designer Hervé Lemaître, is an open-world sandbox game set in the American Wild West of the 1800’s for 3 to 6 players. Take on the role of one of the classic characters of the time. Legends like Billy the Kid, Jesse James, and Calamity Jane are ready to traverse the landscape. Through the course of the game, you’ll determine how they will build their Legend – by breaking the law or upholding it. You can climb the Marshal track, stopping bandits and arresting Wanted players. Or you can build your legendary status by becoming notoriously Wanted, robbing the bank (and other players) and rustling cattle, drawing the attention of the Sheriff and the Marshal players. Western Legends comes to Kickstarter in January.
Kami-sama, from designer AJ Lambeth, takes place across four small Japanese villages. Players become Japanese spirits (called kami) and work to become the kami-sama – the leader of the kami. The game takes place on a rotating board, with each player taking actions in the active village – usually the quadrant of the board facing them at the time. Players will place their shrines in their village, spreading their influence and creating various patterns. At the end of each round, villagers are claimed and give different rewards to the kami. Kami-sama will land on Kickstarter in February.
