What do butterflies, wasps, hummingbirds, and flowers have in common? They are all part of the latest game to become part of the Kolossal family! From designer J.B. Howell, Papillon allows players to build beautiful flower gardens. These gardens attract many butterflies who are competing for the lushest flowers they can find. But watch out for the wasps because they can kill off any butterflies who have come your way.
Papillon is a combination of tile-laying and area control with a stunning table presence made up of three-dimensional flowers. Players will claim either a row or column of garden tiles from a marketplace and then arrange these tiles to build their gardens by placing them with matching colors of flowers (or field spaces) next to each other. After adding to their garden, players will then use their butterflies to claim the flowers with the most points. After rounds four and eight of tile placement, a scoring phase will take place, with the player controlling the most butterflies on each flower earning victory points. Players will also have secret scoring objectives to provide extra points during these scoring phases. The player who has scored the most points through cultivating the best garden and attracting the most butterflies is the winner.
