Yesterday was the final day of our first Kickstarter, Western Legends, and what a day it was!

Designed by first-time designer Hervé Lemaître and featuring stunning artwork from Roland MacDonald, Western Legends is an open-world sandbox tabletop adventure for 2-6 players set in the American Wild West. Players assume the roles of historical figures of the era, earning their legendary status in a variety of ways: gambling, rustling or wrangling cattle, prospecting for gold, robbing the bank, fighting bandits, pursuing stories, becoming an outlaw, keeping the peace. The possibilities are darn near endless.

Thanks to our dedicated team and the support from our backers in the gaming community, we can produce an exciting game, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

The Western Legends campaign ended with 6,721 backers, bringing this exciting and innovative project to life. Our high number of backers helped us unlock all of the stretch goals planned for the campaign. We added six new characters (Belle Starr, Allan Pinkerton, Isom Dart, Buffalo Bill Cody, the fan-chosen Pearl Hart, and a surprise unlock of Bat Masterson – who received the second most votes in our backer poll). Replay value was increased due to the inclusion of 24 new Story Cards. Three new items were also added, including a new mount (Work Horse), a new weapon (Peacekeeper), and a miscellaneous item (Holster). We also unlocked six new player minis, giving players further flexibility when choosing their mini. Three of these minis (Calamity Jane, Jesse James, and Wyatt Earp) are character-specific. The other three minis are, like the base minis, based on archetypes of the time (the Cowboy, the Gentleman, and the Scout). We also unlocked six unique sculpts for the Bandits (Robber, Desperado, Gambler, Fugitive, Horse Thief, and Bandido). Another stretch goal adds colored plastic rings for the Bandits and the Sheriff. This reward will allow players the chance to use any of the Bandit minis – or even the Sheriff – as their player mini. Loads of component upgrades were also unlocked, as well as additional gameplay elements such as new cattle tokens and a deck of Bandit cards that make each Bandit on the board behave a little differently.

On top of that, we also unlocked some Social Stretch Goals.

What’s next?

You can all relax … you’ve done your part. Keep an eye out for the PledgeManager email. That’s a critical step in completing your pledge.

As for us, we have a lot of work ahead of us. At this point, we will continue wrapping up pre-production, then get the files off to our manufacturing partner so that we can deliver an amazing tabletop adventure to you in August!

Please keep an eye out for updates on Kickstarter, and here is a thank you from our President, Travis R. Chance; A ‘Bold’ End to Western Legends

Thank you again for all of your support, and we look forward to seeing all of you for our next Kickstarter, Kami-Sama, coming in February!

Hello, I just recently found out about Western Legends Kickstarter campaign a few days ago, when there was only about 6 hours left in the campaign. I had intended to pledge for a all-in pledge level, but got so busy with work I was literally about one hour too late when I went to do so.
Is it indeed too late, will this awesome looking western themed game be released for retail? If so, will all content be available or will there be some things from the Kickstarter campaign left-out?
Any help and info is greatly appreciated, thank you!
